Weary
Think how beautiful and quiet the world would be without us! Birds, water gurgling and crickets. Bees buzzing on lazy summer days. Grass blowing. OH baby, lay me down, I am weary. It is time for sleep now, and I will become the wind, the air. I will rest lightly on the earth and enjoy the caresses of the grasses and the scrubbing of the evergreens. I will lie in the sun as I protect the earth. I will be an air poisonous to humans. I will suck the life from their lungs, gather them up in a fierce cosmic wind and throw them to the stars! I will, of course, make sure they do not pollute another galaxy. I will confer with my sister, the black hole as to how we can best dispose of their rotting bodies. Maybe there’s a planet somewhere that needs fertilizer? Maybe Monsanto already has a factory on some distant world? Wouldn’t that just suck?! No, let’s say that Monsanto doesn’t have a factory on some distant planet. Let’s say there are several that need fertilizer; the fertilizer that a human body decomposes into easily – this is the kind these planets need. And like Prince Phillip wanting to come back to life as a virus that wipes out 75% of the population, I will become as air, only instead of 75%, it will be 100 that I suffocate… And the earth will be quiet; the humans will scheme and lie and hurt each other no longer; no more preposterous statements about how important or powerful they are; no more loud cars; no more loud sales people; no more theft, slavery or war. Rest. I will rest on the planet. I will save the planet. It’s good, right? Image from: http://www.illusionsgallery.com/Weary-moon.html |
